AbyssalCraft es un mod que combina magia y exploración. El mod se encarga de generar hasta cuatro nuevas dimensiones, donde encontraremos nuevos bloques, recursos, objetos y criaturas no muertas. Las dimensiones en cuestión son The Abyssal Wasteland, The Dreadlands, Omothol y Dark Realm, que representan, en este mismo orden y de más superficial a más profunda, las cuatro dimensiones que forman el universo conocido con el nombre de "The Abys".
En The Abyssal Wasteland, la capa más superficial de The Abys nos encontraremos con las criaturas habituales del juego. Mientras que en The Dreadlands, Omothol y Dark Realm podremos encontrar nuevas criaturas mutantes, sombras y jefes poderosos. Antes de adentrarnos a estas dimensiones es necesario ir bien equipado.
Para ver y entender el funcionamiento de este mod, así como de los diversos bloques y objetos, características de cada una de las dimensiones o de las criaturas que las habitan, es recomendable fabricar una guía (en inglés) llamada "Necronomicon".
