SevTech Ages es un mod que añade una gran cantidad de contenido al juego, basado en un sistema de progresión y evolución. La idea es que al empezar una partida, no podremos empezar a encontrar diamantes, si no que antes tendremos que pasar por unas fase evolutiva que nos permitirá desbloquear tecnología y demás.
Por ejemplo, con este mod instalado se ocultarán aquellos recursos minerales que todavía no hayamos desbloqueado. Tampoco podremos realizar ciertas recetas de objetos si antes de no hemos investigado esas tecnologías.
El sistema de progresión cuenta con centenares de investigaciones personalizadas, que a medida que vayamos desbloqueando, nos permitirá acceder a nuevas épocas o edades, y según la edad o época en la que estemos, podremos desarrollar unas cosas u otras.
