Advanced Darkness 1.12.2 es un mod que tiene por objetivo aumentar la dificultad del juego, haciendo que vivamos dentro de un mundo con obscuridad prácticamente absoluta. Reduciendo el gamma, se consigue que las fuentes de iluminación tengan mucha menos capacidad de iluminar el ambiente, por lo que ver qué hay a nuestro alrededor no será nada fácil.
Esto conlleva a aumentar el peligro, pues tendremos que movernos por el mundo con atención, ya que podremos caernos fácilmente, o simplemente no darnos cuenta de que cerca de nosotros hay enemigos. Por suerte, y para compensar, el mod añade una lámpara, llamada Comforting Lanterns, que nos permitirá iluminar los alrededores de nuestras viviendas.
