El crafteo es realmente sencillo, necesitaremos papel, hilo, plumas y una esmeralda. Colocando estos objetos en la mesa de crafteo siguiendo las indicaciones de la imagen inferior conseguiremos una de las dos alas de las Elytra. Si conseguimos hacer dos alas y las colocamos en la mesa de crafteo, podremos crear nuestras propias Elytra sin tener que derrotar a jefes, ni realizar viajas dimensionales.
