Crossbows es un mod que añade otra arma de ataque a distancia, así que además del arco predefinido podremos utilizar hasta 15 variantes de ballestas, con las que podremos disparar hasta 9 variantes de flechas.
Existen ballestas de varios materiales, al igual que ocurre con las flechas, aunque estas últimas, además, tienen variantes especiales, como son las flechas explosivas, de fuego, espectrales y de teletransporte.
Con una ballesta siempre podremos dispara flechas del mismo material que la ballesta, o de materiales inferiores, es decir, con una ballesta de hierro podremos disparar flechas de hierro, pero no de diamantes.
