Gender se encarga de añadir género masculino y género femenino en Minecraft, además de las versiones adultas e infantiles de cada género. Es decir, ahora podremos escoger si queremos que nuestro personaje sea una niña, un niño, un hombre o una mujer. Según que escojamos nuestro personaje tendrá una apariencia u otra, también los sonidos serán diferentes, aunque las capacidades serán las mismas.
Para seleccionar o cambiar nuestro personaje debemos acceder a un menú de opciones, al cual accederemos pulsando la letra "G". Desde este menú escogeremos el género del personaje, así como su "edad". En este mismo menú, encontraremos un icono con forma de engranaje, si lo pulsamos podremos configurar otras opciones, como por ejemplo que también se generen zombies femeninos, entre otras opciones.
