Hungry Animals nos ofrece una inteligencia artificial modificada para los animales de Minecraft, bajo el objetivo de que los animales parezcan ser más inteligentes, o por lo menos que su comportamiento sea más realista de lo que lo es de forma predefinida en el juego.
Con este mod instalado los animales tendrán miedo de los humanos y huirán de ellos, por lo que será más difícil cazarlos o domesticarlos, aunque el mod añade trampas para ello. Una vez domesticados, podremos utilizar comederos para que se alimenten. Los animales salvajes comerán por si solos y se aparearán, lo que se traduce en que también podrán morir de hambre si no consiguen comida.
Después de comer harán excrementos, como es normal, y podremos utilizarlos en nuestros huertos como abono. Aunque si tenemos animales en una granja también tendremos que velar por su salud, así que habrá que recoger esos excrementos para que los animales de la granja no enfermen. Si enferman, tendremos que curarlos dándoles hongos.
