Modular Furnaces 2 es un mod que agrega diversos elementos al juego para crear nuestros propios hornos y mejorar tanto la eficiencia como la velocidad. Estos nuevos hornos tendrán unas dimensiones de 3×3 bloques y según que materiales coloquemos en esta estructura, variarán las propiedades de dicho horno.
Estos hornos son afectados por tres materiales básicos. El primero el bloque de redstone que aporta velocidad de cocción, los bloques de hierros aumentan la eficiencia del horno y por último el bloque de esmeralda que nos aportará más experiencia al cocinar cualquier elemento.
También podremos crear otras clases de hornos que nos permitirán duplicar los lingotes de cualquier elemento que pongamos a fundir, hornos que nos permiten cocinar hasta nueve cosas a la vez e incluso hornos con entradas y salidas de materiales, para que podamos aprovechar estos hornos más eficientes usando otros mods como BuildCraft e IndustrialCraft.
