Open Modular Turrets es un mod que nos ofrece la posibilidad de fabricar elementos de defensa para nuestra base, casa u otras construcciones. Con este mod instalado podremos fabricar torretas modulares defensivas, a las que podremos marcar ciertas entidades, e incluso otros jugadores, como objetivos para que cuando éstas se acerquen las torretas les ataquen. Dichas torretas también nos pueden ser muy útiles para las trampas de enemigos.
Éstas torretas pueden ser evolucionadas, mejorando sus prestaciones mediante actualizaciones. Existen diversos modelos de torreta, cuyas principales diferencias son la velocidad de disparo, la defensa y el ataque de cada torreta. Además, podremos utilizar bloques no utilicemos, como tierra, piedra, etcétera, para usarlos como munición para las torretas. Más allá de torretas, también podremos crear vallas de protección y muros defensivos.
