Rough Mobs es un mod que se encarga de modificar las habilidades y características de varias de las criaturas del juego, para hacerlas más peligrosas y difíciles de derrotar. Este mod se encarga de generar criaturas con parámetros de salud, defensa y ataque variables, aunque generalmente éstas criaturas serán más poderosas, más rápidas y tendrán más habilidades que cualquiera de los mobs básicos del juego.
Las criaturas que serán modificadas por este mod son: Creeper, Zombi, Silverfish, Ghasts, Slime, Magma cubes, Zombi Pigman, Enderman, Guardians, Blazes, Wither, Endermites, Vindicators, Evokers, brujas, esqueletos, arañas y arañas de cueva.
Estas criaturas ahora serán más fuertes, más resistentes y veloces que antes, aunque no sólo esto, algunas de estas criaturas tendrán habilidades especiales. Por ejemplo, los Ghasts no podrán ser golpeados por las flechas, los Creepers serán más rápidos y se volverán invisibles cerca de nosotros, los Enderman causarán ceguera y náuseas y las arañas nos provocarán lentitud al golpearnos, entre otros ejemplos.
