Ruins es un mod que tiene por objetivo aumentar la cantidad de estructuras generadas en un mundo de Minecraft. Estas nuevas estructuras principalmente tendrá aspecto ruinoso y abandonado, pero no todas serán así, otras en cambio serán estructuras completas, como globos aerostáticos, barcos, casas y castillos.
En estas ruinas encontraremos enemigos, aunque no se trate propiamente de nuevas mazmorras. Al eliminar a todos los enemigos de la zona, podremos empezar a buscar los tesoros escondidos, en caso de que existan, ya que no en todas las ruinas o estructuras encontraremos tesoros escondidos.
