Speedster Heroes nos ofrece la posibilidad de adquirir poderosas habilidades, sólo al alcance de los superhéroes, en Minecraft. El mod nos permitirá crear nuevos tipos de armadura que nos aportarán nuevas habilidades especiales, como aumentar nuestra velocidad, el salto, etc. Según el tipo de "Speedster" en el que nos convirtamos, adquiriremos unas habilidades u otras. Además, cada "Speedster" deja un halo lumínico a su paso, con lo que tus amigos alucinarán al verte pasar.
Para convertirnos en Speedster, o velocista en español, antes tendremos que fabricar un acelerador de partículas. Esta estructura nos convertirá en velocistas y podremos empezar a utilizar y a evolucionar nuestro árbol de habilidades. Existen dos tipos de habilidades, las de superpoder y las habilidades de traje. Las primeras afectarán a nuestros movimientos, mientras que las segundas dependen de nuestra armadura, que por cierto, podrá ser evolucionada a través de un sistema de nivelación.
Además, podremos desbloquear trajes o armaduras especiales, gracias a las piedras filosofales, que las encontraremos en un nuevo tipo de templo, similar al templo del desierto, sólo que en este caso se trata de un templo en ruinas.
