Stellar Sky se encarga de ofrecernos una recreación de la posición de las estrellas, del Sol y de la Luna, de forma que tras instalar el mod, si miramos al cielo, veremos prácticamente lo mismo que si salimos a la calle y miramos el cielo. Dicho mod recoge datos públicos que la NASA ofrece en su página web para distribuir los cuerpos celestes de forma realista.
Una de las primeras cosas que veremos al instalar este mod es que la forma y tamaño de las estrellas, del Sol y la Luna son diferentes, pues se han modificado para que tengan un tamaño proporcional a cómo los vemos desde la Tierra, y con una forma acorde o lo que realmente vemos al mirar nuestro propio, y real, cielo nocturno.
El mod también cuenta con un menú de personalización y configuración para diversas opciones. Para acceder a este menú tendremos que pulsar la tecla "U".
