Tough As Nails es un mod que tiene por objetivo mejorar el concepto de "supervivencia" dentro del juego, añadiendo características que nos pondrán las cosas más complicadas a la hora de mantener con vida a nuestro personaje.
Este mod añade las cuatro estaciones meteorológicas al juego, que además de cambiar el follaje de los árboles y el aspecto general del mundo, provocará que tengamos que velar por la temperatura ambiental y la temperatura corporal de nuestro personaje. En condiciones de frío tendremos que encender un fuego, y en condiciones de calor deberemos beber agua a menudo.
Para poder gestionar todas estas situaciones, el mod añade otros objetos, como termómetros, calendarios para saber la estación actual y nuevas armaduras, entre otros.
