Waila se encarga de generar pequeños recuadros en la zona superior de la pantalla, que nos indicarán información sobre cualquier bloque al que estemos apuntando con el cursor, tanto si es un bloque predefinido del juego, como si es un bloque añadido por un mod. Esto nos permite conocer por ejemplo el nombre del bloque que estamos mirando, así como a que mod pertenece.

Además este mod ofrece una API para que los modders puedan añadir información adicional a estos recuadros informativos, como podemos ver en el ejemplo de la imagen inferior, donde además del nombre del bloque y a que mod pertenece, podemos ver información del contenido del bloque sin abrir la interfaz gráfica de ese bloque.

Este mod es muy útil para aquellos que instalamos muchos mods en Minecraft, ya que nos permitirá conocer a que mod pertenece cualquier bloque u objeto que estés señalando con el ratón, y mejorará nuestra experiencia de uso, ya que en muchos caso nos ahorraremos de abrir la interfaz de máquinas o bloques que contengan interfaz propia.
