Advanced XRay nos ofrece una forma rápida y sencilla de encontrar recursos minerales en el juego, aunque no sólo minerales, también podremos encontrar otros objetos del juego que pueden ser interesantes, como por ejemplo cofres y bloques de cristal, que nos indicarán donde hay dungeons, y también construcciones de otros jugadores.
Todos los minerales, materiales u objetos que queremos que detecte el mod, se configurar mediante un menú de selección, donde podremos escoger aquellos objetos, materiales y minerales que queremos buscar. También podemos definir un rango de bloques a la redonda, para acotar más la búsqueda.
Otra de las funciones interesantes de este mod, es que nos permitirá también detectar todos aquellos recursos minerales añadidos por cualquier otro mod.
