Exchange Orb es un mod bastante sencillo, ya que únicamente añade un objeto al juego. Este nuevo objeto es un orbe que nos permitirá intercambiar recursos minerales de forma más o menos proporcional a su valor. El orbe nos permitirá, por ejemplo, cambiar ocho unidades de Redstone por un lingote de hierro, o una esmeralda por un diamante.
Todo esto será posible se antes crafteamos el objeto básico del juego, llamado "Exchange Orb" y lo colocamos en una mesa de crafteo junto a los recursos minerales básicos del juego, como carbón, hierro, oro, lapislazuli, Redstone, esmeralda y diamante.
De hecho se creamos gran cantidad de carbón vegetal podremos ir haciendo intercambios hasta llegar a conseguir diamantes sin tener que ir a las minas a buscarlos. Aveces ocurre que llenamos los cofres con Redstone que no utilizamos, y con este mod podremos convertir esos "desechos" en recursos minerales valiosos.
