Pet Buddy es un mod que nos permitirá crear un duplicado de nuestro personaje de Minecraft en miniatura, que nos servirá como compañero de aventuras, siguiéndonos a todas partes, defendiéndonos de los enemigos que nos ataquen. Además, podremos utilizar este "mini yo" para aumentar nuestra capacidad de transporte de objetos, pues contará con un inventario propio. También podremos ponerle un nombre, tendrá una casilla para ponerle comida y podremos equiparlo con un casco y una espada.
Otra curiosa característica que tiene el mod, es que en la casilla de comida podremos colocar más cosas que comida. Por ejemplo, si colocamos un salmón, nuestro compañero se convertirá en un oso y se convertirá en un Creeper si le ponemos pólvora. Mientras que si le ponemos una silla de montar, éste ser se subirá a nuestra cabeza.
