Smart Moving tiene por objetivo mejorar todo aquello que rodea al movimiento de nuestro personaje de Minecraft, añadiendo desde animaciones para ciertos movimientos que ahora carecen de animación, así como la adición de diversos nuevos movimientos disponibles y habilidades.
Algunas de las funciones destacadas del mod, residen en los nuevos movimientos que podremos realizar con el personaje, algunos de ellos son: saltos más altos, mayor velocidad de sprint, posibilidad de gatear, trepar por paredes de hasta 3 bloques de altura, así como agarrarnos a cornisas y desplazarnos a través de ellas con la fuerza de los brazos.
En el aspecto estético, encontramos animaciones mejoradas para acciones como el correr, nadar, caídas o volar, entre otras.
