Tumat se encarga de mostrar información sobre cualquier bloque u objeto al que apuntemos con la cruceta del punto de vista de nuestro personaje de Minecraft. Éste mod nos informará sobre detalles como el nombre del bloque u objeto, sus características, a qué mod pertenece, la herramienta con la que podemos recoger el objeto, así como información referente a su interfaz, si es que la tiene.
Si el objeto al que estamos apuntando con la cruceta es, por ejemplo, una máquina, el mod nos indicará información que sin éste mod sólo podríamos consultar accediendo a la propia interfaz o inventario de la máquina. Para hacerlo todavía más claro, éste mod añade algunas de las funcionalidades del, por ahora, desactualizado mod Waila.
