Void Island Control es un mod que se encarga de generar un nuevo tipo de mundo, donde lo que se generará son diversas islas flotantes donde deberemos intentar sobrevivir, consiguiendo recursos de forma muy limitada, lo que convertirá la supervivencia en un verdadero reto. Actualmente se generarán un total de cuatro variantes de islas flotantes.
Para generar este tipo de mundo, iremos al menú de creación de mundo y en tipos de mundo seleccionaremos la opción "Void? World" para que se cree un nuevo mundo con las características específicas de este mod. Una vez cargado del mundo, deberemos utilizar el comando "/island create" de este modo se generará una isla aleatoria donde deberemos intentar sobrevivir.
Si lo deseamos podemos elegir uno de los cuatro tipos de isla existentes, que son: sand, wood, snow y grass. Para elegir un tipo de isla utilizaremos el comando "/island create wood" o cualquiera de las otras cuatro opciones que acabamos de citar.
